Afternoon Report Friday 8th May 2015
The ASX 200 became a very dull affair today, slipping slowly down from an 11.30am high of 5,689 to finish the day down 11points 0.2%) to 5,635.
In China the release of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI) figures year on year are expected at 11.30am on Saturday and in the U S the monthly Unemployment / Non-Farm Payroll figures will be published at 10.30pm tonight.
The Energy sector was hit hard today with the index down 3.3%. Woodside Petroleum (WPL) was down $1.26 (3.59%) to $33.80 and Santos was down 44c (4.87%) to $8.59 BHP Billiton (BHP) was sold off again in the latter stages, finishing down 59c (1.85%) to $31.30.
