This year maybe only 3-weeks old but its already thrown up some increased volatility, especially on the stock / sector level as rising bond yields have led to portfolios being increasingly skewed towards a high interest rate / inflation environment – it’s slowly becoming too much, too soon, in our opinion. So far we’ve seen 16 members (8%) of the ASX200 rally by over 10% and although the list is dominated by the Resources Sector there are a couple of inclusions that would surprise many investors, today MM has simply picked out 5 of these top performers to evaluate whether we believe it’s the start of a year of significant outperformance, remember we forecast this year to deliver plenty of choppy stock / sector rotation.
