The Income Portfolio added +1.24% over the course of the week while cash sits at ~4%. For the difficult month of January the portfolio was down just 2.04% (against an over 6% fall in the market). At Market Matters we publish 5 portfolios with different risk / return profiles and they will behave differently into market corrections. This is a portfolio suited to those with a lower risk tolerance, an objective of regular income with lower volatility than the underlying stock market. This is achieved via the composition of the portfolio that includes listed income securities, but also through the type of equities that are selected.
Last week we flagged our intention to sell Insignia Financial Group (IFL) given our exposure to market linked investment, however since then they released a positive trading update which has forced us to remain patient.
